I always enjoy my lessons here – not only does my teacher put a lot of thought and effort into preparing our lessons but she is bright, cheerful and easy going so one feels almost like one is having a chat over a cup of tea with a friend, only of course it's mostly in Polish! Over the last four years I have tried several Polish language classes over here in the UK, all groups, but I get by far the most out of my one-to-one lessons here.

My teacher is undoubtedly one of the best Polish teachers I have had. I am studying for GCSE and her classes are always well-prepared and clearly geared towards this goal. Activities are fun and varied - encompassing role plays, games, structure practice, as well as plenty of free conversation. Resources are pitched at my level but challenging. Every week, I become able to express myself on more and more topics - from using the launderette to discussing the role of the Pope. My teacher concentrates on oral and listening skills in class, so grammar and essays are saved for homework. These are carefully marked and my understanding is growing as a result. A trained Polish teacher, she is invariably able to clarify grammar and always goes the extra mile in finding exercises to strengthen my weak areas. Lessons are maintained in Polish, with English there only if I need it - her's acting, tone, use of synonyms, drawings etc always manage to convey meaning without translation! As a result, I have found myself beginning to think in Polish and increasingly able to understand. I would recommend 2ndlanguage without reservation – my teacher’s patience means that I am not afraid to learn from my mistakes, her organisation means that my progress is clearly visible, and her sense of humour means that learning Polish is one of the highlights of my week.

She explains everything in detail and we also play games sometimes, which helps me to have a better understanding of what I'm learning. I would highly recommend this place.

My teacher manages to combine a comprehensive Polish language curriculum with an approach tailored to each individual's need also at an affordable price. She has an extraordinary command of the English language which allows her to easily explain concepts and constructs which can be difficult for the novice to understand. I highly recommend studying here at all levels of Polish proficiency.
